LIC ADO Selection Procedure

The selection process for the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) typically involves the following stages:

  1. Online Examination: The first stage of the selection process is an online examination, also known as the LIC ADO preliminary examination. This examination tests the candidate's knowledge in various areas such as reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, English language, general knowledge, and current affairs and knowledge of insurance.
  2. Mains Exam: Candidates who qualify the preliminary examination will have to appear for the mains exam which will have objective and descriptive type questions.
  3. Interview: Candidates who qualify the mains examination are called for an interview. The interview is conducted by a panel of LIC officials and is designed to assess the candidate's overall suitability for the role of an Apprentice Development Officer.
  4. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the interview are required to undergo a medical examination as per the standards prescribed by LIC.
  5. Merit List: Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the online examination, mains examination, and the interview. The final merit list is prepared based on the combined scores of the candidate in all the stages of the selection process.
  6. Document Verification: Candidates who are selected for the post of Apprentice Development Officer will have to submit the necessary original documents and certificates for verification.

The Scores of Examination are obtained by adopting the following procedure:

1. Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving 
at the score. 
2. The scores so obtained by a candidate will be made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in 
difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated 
Scores*. 
(*Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the 
distribution of scores of all the forms.)
3. The Test wise scores and the total score will be rounded upto two decimal digits.
4. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. However, candidates are advised not to mark 
answers through random guessing

Recruitment Notifications are being issued by all Zonal Offices of LIC of India. The candidate shall apply to
only one Division.

 GURANTEE BOND:

Before joining as an Apprentice Development Officer, the candidate will be required to give an 
undertaking to serve LIC Of India for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including 
apprenticeship period) failing which he/she or his/her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to 
pay liquidated damages of ₹ 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three lakh only) to LIC Of India. The candidate will have 
to submit an Indemnity Bond of ₹ 3,00,000/- (Rupees Three lakh only) duly stamped and executed by a 
Surety of sound financial standing and not related to the candidate. The stamp value of the Bond will be 
as applicable to the State in which the bond is executed. 

HOW TO APPLY:

Candidates can apply only online from 21.01.2023 to 10.02.2023 and no other mode of application will be
accepted.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE NOTED BEFORE REGISTRATION
Before applying online, candidates should scan the following documents and ensure that all these 
scanned documents adhere to the required specifications as given under point ‘C’, viz. the guidelines 
for document scan and upload. 
1] photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
2] signature (in black ink)
3] left thumb impression (on white paper in black or blue ink)
4] a hand written declaration (on a white paper in black ink) (text given below).
(i) Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
(ii) The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not
having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying.)
(iii) The text for the hand written declaration is as follows –
“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the 
application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when 
required.”
(iv) The above mentioned hand written declaration has to be in the candidate’s hand writing and only in
English. If it is written and uploaded by anybody else or in any other language, the application will be 
considered as invalid. 
(v) Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ 
intimation charges.
